My heart is heavily aching

for my beautiful country..

My brain has been asking,

‘Why wherefore’, since the previous century..

The nation, black and white,

were all divided by fear of famine, no future.

Hopelessness, horrible haze of smog

over the stark townships.

Then God sent us, released Madiba.

And we were all miraculously set free

into a democracy and all could see

renewed hope, the fulfilling of Amandla!

But now, sadly heads are bent for it seems

a new divide, rich and poor, loudly screams!!
