Why poetry? I did not choose the genre (poetry), it chose me. It is a clche, but it is what it is! I find poetry an easy way to express what I see , feel and think on so
many levels. I don’t have to cry, laugh or scream to vent my emotions.
Writing a poem reveals all of my frustration, fear love , intense joy and faith in words. It helps me to deal with the extremes, even the mundane of life.
I find find the sonnet with it’s definite structure the best form of poetry to use.
I have loved words as far back as I can remember and arranging them in a meaningful way, gives me peace and fulfilment.
Words, language are and will always be a gift from God! We have been granted the free will, the ultimate joy to share it with those around us. Sadly we can also choose to abuse it, though I think that is wounding not only our victims, but also our great God!
I thank God for this extraordinary gift, hoping everyone will read, find comfort or clarity in my use of it..
Note: Poetry is painting pictures in the mind of the reader with words, language..
