I feel the hollow hunger of sadness
leaving a huge, gaping void:
an aching absence of joy and gladness..
I am a black hole, all light destroyed..
Nature does not deign to join me
In my bleakness, the sun still shining brightly
in a brilliant, blue sky, as it should be..
Birds singing in happy harmony..
Shimmering leaves swaying in the breeze
still in the trees , all shades of green
Though lingering summer will soon cease
rich, red, yellow Autumn will be seen..
As summer, my youth just a distant dream..
Like the anguished echo of the Hadida’s scream..
